These #8 x 1/2" U-Drive Self-Tapping Screws have a Round Head with no Drive and are made from 18-8 Stainless Steel. U-Drive Self-Tapping Screws are unique in that they do not have tradtional threading, instead they have spiral drive ribs and a unthreaded pilot / header point on the end of the screw. They feature a Plain Finish, meaning no additional surface coating has been applied; this is commonly used where the part will be painted, plated, or used in controlled indoor environments. The Round Head features a fully domed profile that provides a clean finished appearance and distributes load across the surface of the material. A U-Drive screw is designed to be hammered into a pre-drilled hole for a secure, permanent style installation.
