The serrations underneath the flange act as a locking feature to improve load distribution and resistance to loosening. These feature a Zinc Yellow Finish, which is a zinc plating with a yellow chromate conversion coating that provides increased corrosion resistance over clear zinc and is commonly used in industrial and general-purpose fastening applications.
