These 10-32 x 5/16" Thread Forming Screws feature a Hex Washer Head with a Slotted Drive and are made from Steel. Thread forming screws create mating threads by displacing material rather than cutting it, making them useful in softer materials where strong thread engagement is desired. Taptite style thread forming screws are designed to reduce driving torque while creating strong mating threads in ductile metals and similar materials. They feature a Zinc Green Finish, which is a zinc plating with a green chromate passivation layer that offers improved corrosion resistance and a distinctive green appearance. The Hex Washer Head incorporates a built-in washer flange beneath the head, increasing bearing surface and improving load distribution while remaining compatible with standard hex drivers. A Slotted drive features a single straight groove that accommodates a flathead screwdriver for simple manual installation.
