Thread cutting screws come in several different type, each of which features a blunt tip. Each style also features a different style of chip cavity; either lines or a section that is cut out of the end of the screw threads, allowing them to cut mating threads into the material into which they are being installed.

Type F Thread Cutting Screws

Type F Thread Cutting Screws feature a machine screw thread count and pitch, a blunt point, tapered ending threads and two thread cutting edges formed into the tip of the screw.

They are designed to be used in heavy gauge sheet metal, aluminum, zinc and lead die casting, cast iron, brass and plastics.

Stainless steel versions provide additional corrosion resistance. Ones made of 410 stainless steel are hardened, providing more power to cut into harder materials.

Type F Floorboard Screws

Type F Floorboard Screws are like standard Type F screws, except that they are always provided with flat heads and a Torx® drive and are designed specifically for installing wood floors into truck trailers.

Type F Grounding Screws

Type F Grounding Screws are like standard type f screws except that they are always provided with a hex washer head (with phillips, slotted and unslotted drive options) and are designed specifically for grounding purposes in electrical applications.

Type 23 Thread Cutting Screws

Type 23 Thread Cutting Screws feature a machine screw thread count and pitch, a blunt point, tapered ending threads and a single wide cutting edge with a large chip cavity formed into the tip of the screw.

They are designed to be used in cast iron and zinc, aluminum die castings and plastics. 18-8 stainless steel versions provide additional corrosion resistance.
