All About Wood Screws
Wood screws have a sharp point and a coarse thread pitch which allows them to form mating threads when installed into wood-based materials.
Wood screws are the right choice when your application involves building or constructing projects where wood is mated or attached to other wood surfaces. They are generally partially threaded, although some shorter versions may be threaded the full length of the shank, or body, of the screw.

Other Wood Screws
Deep thread wood screws, also known as woodworking screws, are a newer style of wood screws that offer a smaller diameter in combination with deeper threads in order to provide greater resistance to pull-out forces.

DID YOU KNOW?
Many types of screws require that a pilot hole be drilled before they are installed. Even sharp pointed screws can split wood or distort metal as they're driven if they don't have a properly sized pilot hole. Luckily, we have created charts displaying pilot hole diameter and proper drill bit sizing for most varieties of screws we carry. You can view the full chart here.
