4 Styles of Drywall Screws at Fastener SuperStore
June 07, 2018
Fastener SuperStore carries four styles of Drywall Screws: Coarse Thread, Fine Thread, Self-Drilling and High Low Style.
Coarse thread drywall screws are the perfect fasteners for hanging standard drywall to wooden wall studs. We carry these screws with bugle heads and trim heads; both designed to countersink into drywall and be covered with spackling compound.
Fine thread drywall screws are more commonly used with metal studs. In addition to bugle heads and trim heads, this style is also available with pan or modified truss heads.
Self-drilling drywall screws are also commonly used on metal studs as the self-drilling point can easily punch through and attach to the stud material.
Because they're used with metal studs, self drilling drywall screws come with a fine thread.
Finally, high-low style drywall screws are also commonly used with metal studs. The thread forming feature of these screws creates a tight hold to prevent the screws from loosening or "popping".
